                                                                      How my robot works                              

My robot has a funny bowl shaped hat so that when dangers are here,it can use it for protection.If something hits him on the hard metal face it won't hurt because it's face is made out of silver metals.It's large neck is also made out of metals.It has a good sense too,it's t-shirt is just an normal t-shirt.The hand can transform into anything but blasters or guns.The super jeans on his body can blast smoke.My robot's leg can also do chorus around the house all day long.                                                 It is a super robot that can do chorus.

Nagisa and Yuina's visit

This week Nagisa and Yuina came to our school from Japan. We did some activities to show them some things about New Zealand.

                                      

They had fun playing knucklebones.

In Room 6 we played some rakau games.

In Room 5 we made some creations with strings. Maori call the game whai. In Japan they are called ayatori.

We learnt how to do origami - folding paper to make shapes.

We  made chocolate crackles. They were yummy, scrumptious, crunchy, taste bud thrilling, delicious, amazing, sticky, chocolaty, fantabulous and coconutty.

Yuina did a drumming dance called Soran-bushi for us. 

Nagisa showed us a game with a cup and ball - kendama. She was very good at it. We thought it was pretty hard.

We enjoyed having Nagisa and Yuina in Room 4.

Visit from Luvalley Primary School, China

Serena, Yen and Victor spent 3 days with us in Room 4.

They came to te Tahawai Marae with us.

We heard stories about the carvings and the tukutuku panels (weaving).

We learnt about the whare nui (meeting house). We made our own whare nui.

We used poi and danced to the waiata (song).

We said Goodbye. Serena did a Latin American dance. Victor played the piano. Yen showed us how to use nunchucks. Jingwen also played the piano for us.

On Monday we had a colouring worksheet ,and some questions that had some facts of the cartoon Olympic. some of the questions are a little bit of tricky 

questions but also I have to help Yen,and Serena.Because they don't know a lot of English so for some of the questions they had been copying.

So when we are finished colouring we immediately glue that in to our concept book.

Also on Monday we had our Smoothy Bikes me Kimi, Serena, and Yen had the berries flavour it was divine!

On Monday everyone was went to buy a smoothie bike.The first group went to get the smoothies. 

The second group was learning the bike helmet rules.

The Cycle Race

The experienced cyclists zoomed along the slippery icy road like a Ferrari racing. They were wearing snuggly warm protective clothes. There was fresh white crunchy cold snow. The cars were following them slowly to not endanger the riders. There was a green big sign. There were dark green snow covered trees.
